… Seeks seasonal help for summer horse shows in Wilsonville. Positions available for both jump crew and hospitality/awards.  Ideal candidates will have the following characteristics:
  • Strong work ethic, reliable, and punctual
  • Able to work effectively and harmoniously on a team
  • Willing to learn/master new skills
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Able to lift 50 lbs
  • Able/willing to work outdoors in all weather
  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Previous experience with horses a big plus but not a requirement

Position Descriptions


Jump crew duties include and are not limited to:
  • Moving/positioning jumps (heavy poles and standards) in show arenas and warm-up rings
  • Setting courses under the direction of Course Designer
  • Verifying jump height with careful measurement
  • Monitoring show arenas for dropped rails and responding instantly to replace and tidy jump approach/landings (e.g., running in to a show ring to replace a pole on a jump so a rider can resume the ride)
  • Other duties as required.
  • Long work days involving heavy physical labor. And horses!
Hospitality/Awards staff duties include and are not limited to:
  • Delivering consistently exceptional customer service;
  • Preparing show venue for guests (tables and chairs, signage, awards displays);
  • Monitoring, inventorying, and preparing ribbons and awards;
  • Presenting awards to winning competitors;
  • Preparing/breaking down hospitality areas for customers, maintaining hospitality and other areas clean and orderly;
  • Keeping awards trailer neat and organized;
  • Inventorying prizes and awards;
  • Supporting other staff unable to move from their workspace;
  • Calls for long hours in diverse weather;
  • Computer literacy a big plus;
  • Oregon Food Handlers Card also useful.
